Great British Energy to host recruitment event in Aberdeen

Great British Energy (GBE) will host a recruitment event in Aberdeen on 3 June, offering residents the opportunity to learn more about the organisation, its growing presence in the region, and career opportunities.

The event will take place at Aberdeen Town House and will run from 3.30pm to 7.00pm making it accessible to those currently in employment. It’s aimed primarily at experienced professionals who are interested in contributing to the UK’s publicly owned energy company. Interest is welcome from professionals across multiple disciplines and existing energy experience is highly valued. GBE is currently advertising a range of roles with more expected on a weekly basis, reflecting future organisational needs and long-term ambitions.

Aberdeen is a world-leading energy hub that has been crucial to the UK’s energy security for decades, with an abundance of local talent and business expertise to draw from. GBE would love to meet experienced professionals who are interested in contributing to the UK’s publicly owned energy company. We welcome interest from professionals across multiple disciplines. Existing energy experience is highly valued.

Teams from across the organisation will be represented, including business development, investment, supply chain, finance and corporate functions.

Throughout the event, attendees will be able to:

  • Meet the GBE project teams
  • Learn more about GBE’s strategy, upcoming activity, and career opportunities
  • Take part in live Q&A sessions with GBE representatives
  • Speak directly with GBE staff through 1‑to‑1 conversation

The event is supported by regional partners including Aberdeen Taskforce, Aberdeen City & Aberdeenshire Councils, and the Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce to ensure that GBE activity supports investment and job creation in the region.

GBE is the country’s publicly owned energy company with a mission to accelerate clean energy and the industries that support it, ensuring UK workers and communities reap the benefits of clean, secure, homegrown energy.

GBE confirmed its permanent headquarters in Marischal Square which will open later this year.
