What you can use this form for

Local and community energy organisations and developers can use this form to:

  • submit contact information to keep in touch with upcoming GBE Local updates
  • submit specific project proposals for initial, non‑binding consideration The Expression of Interest (EOI) form is an information-gathering exercise to help Great British Energy understand the local and community energy projects currently being developed across the UK. It is not a funding application, there is no competitive process, and submitting an EOI does not guarantee funding.

GBE may use the information internally and may share it with government. In some cases, GBE may choose to follow up with organisations to explore projects further, but this will be at GBE’s discretion and subject to future business case development.

Completing the EOI is optional and does not replace other routes for engaging with GBE.

After you submit

If you request to keep in touch with upcoming GBE Local updates, we’ll add your details to our database to keep you informed of future initiatives.

While our team is still scaling up, we may not be able to respond immediately.

Important information

Submission of an EOI does not represent a commitment by GBE to provide funding or finance, nor is it a formal application.

No funding or support is being committed at this EOI stage. Any future consideration of funding will be subject to formal due diligence, subsidy control compliance, and separate agreement. This EOI is for information-gathering purposes only and does not constitute an award.

Further, this EOI is not a tender or an offer of contract, and it creates no binding obligations on GBE. GBE may alter or cancel the EOI process at any time without liability. Participating or not participating in this EOI will not advantage or disadvantage any party in any future procurement.

Confidentiality and intellectual property

GBE is a public body and therefore subject to the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) and the Environmental Information Regulations 2004 (EIR), as well as being required to disclose certain information to the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, the National Audit Office and HM Treasury. If any content is commercially sensitive, please mark it as such. While confidentiality cannot be guaranteed, we recognise that some of the information you provide may be commercially sensitive and GBE will seek to ensure commercially sensitive information is kept confidential so far as that is consistent with the public interest in disclosure, including consideration of any relevant exemption under FOIA and EIR, regarding commercially sensitive and confidential information. Any intellectual property in your submission remains yours but you grant us permission to use it.
